Get to Know Guli Fager, MPH

Guli Fager, Master of Public Health in Sexuality and Health (MPH):

I am thrilled to join Toler Financial Group as a Financial Advisor! Finance is not a new field for me, and it has been a lifelong passion. In high school, I worked at the Hulbert Financial Digest, learning about real-world performance of investment advisory newsletters.

I spent 20 years in reproductive health and sex education, helping individuals, couples, and families answer embarrassing questions and solve deeply private problems. The interpersonal and communication skills I gained have proven to be incredibly useful in talking with people about money.

I also bring experience as a business owner. For the last four years I have owned a public health consulting practice, working with a variety of organizational clients to improve health equity and outcomes. Additionally, I managed my husband’s private therapy practice, growing the business, instituting payroll and retirement plans, and ensuring compliance with Maryland state regulations. Through this work, I have gained valuable insight into the day-to-day needs of small business owners, especially therapists. The experience of owning and working in a spousal/family business is unique area of expertise I bring to our clients. Your worries about self-employment, financial planning and long-term security belong with a professional, so that you can focus on the important work you do!

My husband, our two dogs and I live in the historic mill village of Hampden/Woodberry in Baltimore (Go O’s!), where I train for and compete in triathlons. I love to travel, especially by Amtrak sleeper car. In pre-COVID times I went frequently to the West Coast, where I have many family and friends.
